Yamen, a brilliant architect, stands on the threshold of glory with the opening of Burj al-Qimma, the architectural masterpiece designed to defy earthquakes. Worse still? Yamen suffers from face blindness (Prosopagnosia) following an old accident; he cannot distinguish human features, even those of the people closest to him. In a world where everyone wears identical masks, he finds himself accused of attempting to destroy the tower and hunted by an unknown party that knows more about him than he knows about himself.

With the help of Sara, the acoustics expert whom he does not fully trust, Yamen must decipher the free fall equation before the orchestra plays the final note at the opening ceremony, the note that will bring down the tower with everyone inside.
