From beyond the limits of human perception, where dimensions intertwine and timelines intersect — from an ancient countryside lost in the galaxies of oblivion to the sands of Najd that represent the center of gravity and pride in this universe — I pen these lines for you. I am the writer Samt Taht al-Zilal, opening for you a gateway to a world where the glitter of stars blends with the majesty of the desert, to tell you the story of my heroine Dilan.

Dilan — a girl who was not merely an ordinary reader of books, but a poet and scientist who reads the codes of the universe and the secrets of dimensions and translates them into poems of light and pride. A girl who carries in her mind knowledge beyond her time, and hides behind her calm a balancing energy that protects her family of six.

And as was said in ancient times and through the gateways of history, the most severe stabs and the harshest degrees of exile come from those closest to you. Yusuf — peace be upon him — was cast into the darkness of the mysterious well by none other than his brothers and kin. And Ibrahim, the Friend of the Most Merciful — who was it that bound him and cast him into a valley of blazing fire? It was none other than his father and his people.

So too with Dilan... It was not the oppression of her paternal uncles and their greed in that countryside isolated technologically and temporally that pained her, but her own family — with their coldness, harshness and injustice — who placed her in the well of exclusion and made her live under the shadows of marginalization. She was the scientific and spiritual shield upon which they leaned.
