A light night cloaked Zilvan Street, and the wind slipped between the old buildings, carrying with it the smell of damp and dust. Thalir walked with hesitant steps, his eyes scanning the abandoned facades, until he glimpsed a small shop he had never seen before. On its dilapidated sign was written in old Kufic script: "Tadhkarat al-Zaman."
Driven by curiosity, Thalir pushed the rickety door open and entered. Inside the shop, dust covered everything, and the dilapidated shelves held strange objects: tattered books, scattered clocks, and tools he could not recognize.
In the middle of the room, on an old table, there was a clock unlike anything he had ever seen. It glowed faintly, its hands moving as if they had a life of their own, pulsing with time itself. Thalir reached out his hand cautiously, and when he touched it he felt a strange current pass through his body, a strange feeling that unsettled his mind and made his heart beat fast.
He stood for a moment, staring at the Cursed Clock, bewildered. "What is this clock...? It's as if it's alive!" he whispered to himself.
Despite his sense of unease, he could not resist his curiosity, so he decided to take it with him. He placed it carefully in his bag, unaware that this moment would change his life forever. When he left the shop, shadows danced around him as if the whole city were watching him, and the Cursed Clock throbbed faintly in his hand, as if whispering to him that something momentous was about to happen.
The night of Zilvan seemed darker than ever, and something in the shadows smiled silently, waiting for the next step.
