The Forgotten Notebooks

Iyad approached the wooden desk that was covered by a wall of dust. He opened the first drawer to find a collection of papers whose edges had yellowed with time. The notebooks contained writings in a disturbed handwriting, belonging to Dr. Samer. The first lines spoke of unexplained movements inside the room, and of a persistent feeling of being watched that grew during the late hours of the night. The more Iyad delved into reading the pages, the more he felt that the room was beginning to respond to what he was reading, as the curtains began to move lightly despite the absence of any breath of wind. The words described strange symbols engraved beneath the main carpet of the room, which prompted him to kneel to the ground and begin pulling away the heavy carpet to uncover the secrets hidden beneath the wooden floor.
