Extrait du chapitre 1
"When Silence Breaks"
She was not as she had been before. Silence was no longer mere moments of quiet… it had become her dwelling. At the school, she sat alone, looking at the empty chair beside her… Her "friend's" chair. Everyone had grown accustomed to her absence… Except her. That night, she held the red rose that had been placed on her friend's place. She took nothing else. She whispered: "Forgive me… I couldn't say goodbye to you." And her tears poured forth, in a silence louder than any scream. She was not as she had been before……
Résumé
In a world where wounds cannot be seen, some hearts bled in silence.
Not all pain can be told, nor can every story be recounted, for some are hidden behind a smile, or wrapped in white bandages that conceal what cannot be borne.
Her hands were wrapped in faded bandages, as if she were trying to contain something broken inside her, or perhaps to keep something from escaping.
And in the grip of those hands, a red rose… solitary, yet alive.
The red rose was not merely a flower…
It was a promise, or a memory, or perhaps the last that remained of a heart that could bear no more.
And here the story begins…
Some partings are like no other…
Not only because they are painful, but because they leave a void that nothing can fill.
When a friend leaves, she takes not only laughter with her…
She takes a part of your soul and leaves you trying to live with half a heart.
Her hands were wrapped in bandages, as if she were trying to hold on to what remained of herself.
And between her fingers, a red rose… the last that remained of her "friend."
